FRAMING DOORS AND WINDOWS Door
and window "bucks" are simply wooden boxes made from two-by-fours
or two-by-sixes. These are set in the wall during block stacking both
to delineate the space for the door or window and to provide attachment.
There are several methods of attaching bucks in the adobe wall. A common
practice in the traditional adobe construction is to use a wooden box
(referred to as a "gringo block") in place of an adobe every
five or six courses next to the buck. | overview | history | benefits | thermal properties | faqs | contact us | Earth
